“Surveillance Everywhere You Turn”

Today in the age of technology we are always being watched by someone or something. There are practically surveillance cameras everywhere we go. On the streets, in schools, on buses, in and outside of stores, and buildings of all sorts. Most of the time we don’t even notice how many cameras there really are. We can be watched without knowing even through our very own laptops and cell phone cameras. We do not even have the option of resistance.

My initial plan was to expose how much we truly are being watched. I took all of these shots off of an iphone camera that I brought with me everywhere I normally go: home, school, stores, malls, etc. I wanted to show how much we are being exposed daily. The photographs were shots of surveillance cameras usually with a person in it. I have also inverted this by photographing areas that would not usually have surveillance cameras. I did this to amplify the idea of always being watched. All of the photographs are black and white with a red time and date tag in the lower right hand side.
